Overview
WhatsApp integration for ClawStaff is coming soon. We are building support for the WhatsApp Business API that will allow you to deploy Claws as intelligent agents on the messaging platform used by over two billion people worldwide.
What Your Claw Can Do
When the integration launches, your Claw will be able to:
Handle customer conversations. Deploy a Claw that responds to incoming WhatsApp messages from customers. The Claw can answer questions, provide support, and escalate complex issues to your team, all through a familiar messaging interface.
Send automated responses. Configure your Claw to send templated or AI-generated responses based on message content, time of day, or customer history. Responses go through the WhatsApp Business API’s approved message templates for outbound messaging.
Bridge with internal tools. WhatsApp messages can trigger workflows in your other connected tools. A customer question on WhatsApp could create a support ticket in Jira, log the interaction in your CRM, or notify your team in Slack.
Send team notifications. Use WhatsApp as a notification channel for your team. Your Claw can send alerts about deployments, incidents, or other events to a WhatsApp group, reaching team members who may not be at their desks.
Who Can Reach Your Claw
When the integration launches, WhatsApp whitelisting will control who can communicate with your Claw:
- By phone number. Whitelist specific phone numbers. Only messages from those numbers are processed.
- By group. Whitelist specific WhatsApp groups. The Claw only responds in whitelisted groups.
This will work alongside three Claw scoping levels:
Private Claw. Only the creator interacts. The Claw responds to messages from your phone number only.
Team Claw. Whitelisted team members share the Claw. It responds in a team WhatsApp group and only to whitelisted numbers. Example: a team alert bot in a private WhatsApp group.
Organization-wide Claw. Any whitelisted member can interact. The Claw serves as a company notification channel available to all verified employee phone numbers.
How It Works
The integration will use Meta’s WhatsApp Business API, requiring a verified WhatsApp Business Account. Setup will involve connecting your Business Account to ClawStaff, configuring message templates, and deploying your Claw to a ClawCage with the WhatsApp credentials securely injected. Full setup documentation will be available when the integration launches.
Security
All ClawStaff security guarantees will apply to the WhatsApp integration. Credentials will be encrypted at rest, message processing will happen inside isolated ClawCage containers, and tenant data will remain fully separated. The integration will comply with Meta’s WhatsApp Business API policies and data handling requirements.
Cross-Integration Workflows
Planned cross-integration workflows include:
- WhatsApp to Slack. Customer messages on WhatsApp are summarized and posted to an internal Slack channel for team visibility.
- WhatsApp to Jira. Support requests from WhatsApp automatically create Jira tickets with conversation context attached.
- Alerts to WhatsApp. Monitoring events from your infrastructure or other tools are forwarded to a WhatsApp group for fast, mobile-friendly notifications.
We will announce availability on our blog and notify users on the waitlist. If you are interested in early access, reach out to integrations@clawstaff.ai.
